Navigating Local Health and Care Resources Available to Seniors

Senior citizens and their families often feel overwhelmed when dealing with health issues. Finding the right care services to fit their needs can be a daunting task -- but need not be. SAVE THE PATIENT is hosting another community show to bring insights, ideas and understandable answers to the Chicago public.

On Monday, January 11 at 6:00 p.m., Chicago Access Network (CAN-TV), Channel 21, will air a live call-in program, "Community Health" focusing on resources, services and advocates available to help seniors and their families navigate the storms of long-term care issues.

Host Lenore Janecek, president and founder of SAVE THE PATIENT, and Nancy Tuzzolino, founder of Tuzzolino Enterprises will discuss how seniors and their families can get the timely support they need. These two health care advocates will share online tools, local services and options available to help seniors and their families better understand pressing health and aging issues.

The program will further focus on resources, ranging from: websites and senior centers to support groups and private geriatric care managers -- all who are available to bring a better quality of life, understanding and peace of mind to seniors and their caregivers.

Viewers, who wish to join in discussions can call-in to pose their questions or share insights.

Lenore Janecek is a nationally known healthcare expert, patient advocate and author, who founded SAVE THE PATIENT, a not-for-profit patient advocacy organization, in 2001.

Nancy Tuzzolino is founder and senior consultant of Tuzzolino Enterprises, a Chicago-based firm specializing in helping seniors locate care services customized to their needs, including living with long-term illnesses and Alzheimers -- especially if those needs, include staying as independent as possible.
